Breastfeeding duration
How long would have to last the breast feed?
It is very difficult or impossible to say how long should the baby be breastfeeding at the time. It depends on lot of circumstances and also on the affluence of the milk and on the character of the baby.
The first days of the baby life the interval varies much since he begins to suck until milk starts to flow in his mouth.
They newborn baby must become familiar with the breast, lick a little the nipple and learn to appreciate the perfume and the flavour of milk before being decided to suck actively.
There are vivacious babies who suck very quickly, others calmer that prefer to savor milk with tranquillity and the sweet ones that the food is, in addition ,a pleasant contact with the maternal breast, so he prefers to savor slowly.
Breast milk comes quicker at the beginning while is a lot slower at the end of the sucking. Some babies suck very hard and get satisfy and don't need any more for a few hour, while some other ones want to suck almost every hour in the first few weeks of their life.
