Ever since Isaac Mizrahi began using his designer credentials to brighten up and modernize the stylings of Target, other designers realized what a good idea it is to work for large companies, where their work can be seen, used and appreciated by a mass audience. Now that Mizrahi is literally a household name, expect to see more and more affordable but stylish digs directed toward the pocketbook of the common consumer in all part of the United States, not simply design mecca New York City. For example, modern baby bedding is now available from designers Christiane Lemieux and Jennifer Chusad. Christiane previously worked as the design director at Portico in New York. Portico was a luxury home furnishings company. Jennifer previously worked in fashion design for the Gap. Together they make up the company Dwell, and currently bring fashion conscious parents something they made have dreamed of but never expected to see: modern baby bedding.

Cubes, pear stripes, blossom dots and blossom stripes in yellow, robin blue, and pink are just a few of the shapes and designs they offer in the baby bedding line. These images can be found on reversible bumpers, fitted sheets and crib skirts. Your baby may not understand how stylish he or she has become, but parents, relatives and friends will. There's no reason baby's room has to be bland or dowdy, nor any reason you have to rely solely on pictures of baby animals, flowers or other old standbys. Make decorating their nursery an art project and have fun with it!
